Using New Media In Education Workshop
The IT department, MOE, in Northern Batinah governorate applied a training program on social media networks in education. The five days’ workshop targeted 25 teachers, held in Bader Al Kobra School in Al-Khaborah.
The program is prepared and carried out by Mohammed Al Ghafri, Systems Supervisor, where he presented five papers among which is an orientation about wiki programming: educational advantages, guidelines of use and implementations and creating private wiki account.
The second paper was about deploying twitter and how to exploit the program in education , amassing followers, and Hashtags writing. The third paper on YouTube Educational channels, how to manage the channel, add and build videos.
The fourth paper on Google Documents, aiming at disseminating modern publishing instruments of IT, bringing it to classrooms for pertaining yield. Also, to present hand on learning experiences and formulate curriculum units that endorse IT scientific approach. The workshop concluded with a paper on Information security in IT, social media, safe use of online channels, privacy concepts and smart phones security.
