Al Shaibania chairs a meeting with Evaluating Team of Military Education Program and Development

HE Dr Madiha Al Shaibanih, Minister of Education, chaired on Wednesday morning in Grand hall in the ministry cabinet the evaluating team of the military education program with presence of HE Mostafa bin Ali bin Abdullatif, Undersecretary for Administration and Finance at MoE, HE Dr Hamood bin Khalfan Al Harthi, Undersecretary for Education and Curricula, the ministry’s counselors and representatives of Ministry of Defense, ROP, Royal Guard of Oman and Palace Office. Also, the meeting was attended by Hilal Al Mawali, General Manager of External Affairs of Shell Oman, chairman of outward band program “challenge” and number of ministry’s officials.

This meeting aims to discuss the prepared plan  by the committee and which was formed in light of the ministerial decision no 748/2013 and to view the proposed developmental  vision for military education program which will be implemented over the next year.

HE Minister of Education welcomed the team and thanked them for their hard work and multi roles in order to study the program from different aspects and propose solutions and appropriate mechanism for development.  She emphasized that military education program is a national project its implemented depends on community involvement of  different sectors military, private and local community. She confirmed also on the importance of military education for students and their achievements during the last years since its launched. She mentioned the importance of acquiring students with positive values such as volunteer work.

During the meeting they viewed a proposal to increase the number of students enrolled in the program gradually according to training possibilities of implementing  program in each educational directorate and in coordination with those who in charge.

The team determined a number of national and social values which should be spread among students such as patriotism, loyalty for the leader, volunteering, respect, commitment to national identity, honoring their parents, kinship and honesty.   

Accordingly, two evaluation forms where designed to measure students’ behavior and prepared educational bags included topics of educational values.
