Educational awareness and students’ care department at North Batinah Directorate organized a training program targeted more than 80 educators, including a number of principles and their assistants, social workers, school health doctors and nurses, teachers, food supervisors and school sports teachers.

The program activities were carried out for three consecutive days at Al Tireef basic education school. The program aims to define the concept and components of health-promoting schools and nutrition-friendly schools, and to give the participants in the training the necessary skills to implement the initiative.

The program included a range of working papers such as the concept of health-promoting schools and the implementation of the initiative of health-promoting schools and nutrition-friendly school done by Dr. Atef Mohammed. 

Al Shamsi said: “The mechanisms to apply the initiative were through counting all schools applying the project and then nominate (12) schools in the governorate, two schools from each Wilaya, and follow-up the plan to activate the implementation of the initiative in the schools applied the project”.
