In collaboration with Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Ministry of Education, represented by Directorate General of Human Resources Development inaugurated the 5th Academic Program for Experienced Teachers in Grand Hall of the Cultural Center at SQU. It was under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Said bin Hamad Al Rubaie, Secretary General for the Education Council, and in presence of Dr. Ali Al Bimani, Vice-Chancellor of SQU, general directors, heads of departments, academics, trainers and teachers.
On the occasion, Dr. Ali Al Shaili, Curriculum and Teaching Methods Department Head at SQU said: “We are pleased to welcome 530 participants from several specializations to engage in valuable workshops and discussions with well-knowledgeable academics from the university. We hope this program will be the base in education development direction in accordance with international standards. SQU vision is to achieve excellence in education fields, community services and scientific research.”
H.E. Dr. Said bin Hamad Al Rubaie, Secretary General for the Education Council said: “The Sultanate recognizes the importance of human resource development in all sectors particularly education as the main priority of long-term investment. These programs between SQU and MOE are set to improve teachers’ capabilities and competencies as part of education enhancement plans in line with technologies, modern techniques, and knowledge.”
In addition, the ceremony included a short film, “Torch of Science and Knowledge” which outlined the cooperation between MOE and SQU in teachers skills and experiences development in the academic field.
As part of its ongoing commitment of education development plans and programs, MOE’s Academic Program for Experienced Teachers is designed to provide them a unique opportunity to spend two weeks at SQU to share knowledge with SQU academics as well as to gain information, updates, educational, scientific and holistic approaches of the educational process.
