Variety of events for mental integration students at Muscat Directorate schools
Under the auspices of Mrs.Sana bent Hamad Al Busaidi, Director-General of Directorate General of Education at Muscat governorate, Al Manhel Basic Education School (1-4) in Al Seeb organizes mental integration events in cooperation with the Department of Special Education.
Eight schools participated in the events, Bahjat Al Anwar, Al Izdihar, Al Baraa, Al Sarooj, Qaboos city, Quriyat, Zeinab bent Abu Sufyan and Nibras.
At the beginning of the ceremony Azaa bent Abdullah Al Salmiyah said: “providing appropriate educational services and opportunities for students is an educational responsibility we should seek to achieve”. Ministry of Education integrated students of special needs with students without disabilities in schools to provide the best programs and educational services and counseling.
She added: “The integration program at Al Manhal School has begun since 2009/2010 where they opened a class of five students of mental disabilities who have been chosen according to a diagnostic process carried out by a team of specialists in the ministry. In the academic year 2010/2011 the number of students goes up to twelve students who are taught by two female teachers.
