Undersecretary for Education and Curricula follows up Child- friendly schools in Muscat
HE Dr Hamood bin Khalfan Al Harthy, Undersecretary of Education for Educationa and Curriula, visited yesterday morning Al Sarooj Basic Education School (1-4) in Mucsat . The visit comes in order to follow up Child- Friendly Schools initiative being implemented by MOE in cooperation with UNICEF and think-tank house Miske Witt.
HE was accompanied by Ali Al Jahoari, General Director of The General Directorate of Education in Muscat. At the beginning, HE listened to the school administration and teachers briefing on efforts to implement child rights in schools. He also talked with students to ensure their awareness of their rights and discussed with them the right and wrong behavior in school and community.
Also, HE viewed a presentation showed services provided to student in child rights field. H.E took a tour in the school where he visited classes of merge students such as classes of English, fine art, vocational guidance, learning sources and scientific labs. The child-friendly schools aimed to improve quality of education, create a friendly school atmosphere for child, raise level of awareness about Child right convention in community and enhance merge of children with disability in the educational system.
