The 3rd Gulf Mathematical Olympiad hosted by the Sultanate represented by MOE in cooperation with the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS) during the period from 6 to 9 April 2014 pulled down its curtains recently. The Ceremony was held under patronage of HE Dr Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibani, Minister of Education, in presence of Dr Ali Al Qarni, General Director of ABEGS and number of undersecretaries and counselors of the ministry.
During the ceremony they announced results and honored winners of Gold, silver and bronze medals in the Olympiad for this year.The ceremony program included ABEGS word delivered by HE Dr Ali Al Qarni, students word delivered by Ismaiel Al Rawahi, Student from Said bin Khalfan Al Khalili School, a show entitled (Hasad) that shows events of the 3rd Olympiad and finally students presented Al Azi and Al Bara’a.
At the end HE Dr Madiha honored the members of the Olympiad preparatory committee in MOE, members of the scientific committee and the wining students. Saudi Arabia got the four golden medals and two silver. The rest medals divided to six countries as follows: Sultanate Oman 3 Bronze and two silver, Bahrain 4 bronze and one silver, Qatar 3 bronze and one silver, Yemen 2 bronze and one silver, Emirates 3 bronze and one silver and Kuwait one bronze.
