UNISCOs affiliated schools takes part in the Globe Hour
The UNESCO affiliated schools of the Sultanate of Oman (25 schools) is taking part in the world annual celebrations of the Globe. The Globe Hour is an international initiative that aims to promote environment awareness and bringing up ideas on the need for implementing green policies to control weather change around the world by turning off all unnecessary lights from 8:30 to 9:30 on the last Saturday of March every year.
The event activities are organized by Oman Environment Association in conjunction with Oman National Commission for Education, Science and Culture; where schools are required to show commitment by cutting the power consumption bills coast in March in order to win the contest along with other activities meant to achieve the program , through organizing awareness campaigns at schools and printing informative posters.
