Al Saidya School Education Museum is Open

His Highness Sayyed Haitham bin Tariq Al Said presided over the inauguration event of Oman Education Museum at Al-Saidya School in Muscat yesterday. The event was attended by Her Excellency Dr Madeha bint Ahmed Al-Shibaniah, Minister of Education and a number of their Highnesses and their Excellences ministers and undersecretaries and a number of invited dignitaries in the country. “The Al-Saidya School in Muscat means a lot to us, it was the first fledge of education in the sultanate and resembling the systemic education story in this treasurable building is a beautiful work. It reminds us of our old days and translates where we came to nowadays. It possessed boundless memories of those who lived in that era and extends to reach up to the days of His Majesty the Sultan Qaboos bin Said coronation and the start of development in education”. Said His Highness Sayyed Haitham bin Tariq Al Said at the inauguration ceremony of Al-Saidya School Educational Museum on Tuesday.

The Fledge of Schools in Oman

His Excellency Sayyed Mohammed bin Sultan Albu-Saidi, State Minister and Governor of Dhofar said: “It is beautiful to honor this School and review its unprecedented record of being the core for education and schools across the country; the heritage style of its building entitled the school to embrace the education museum that archives that education story through the past era, starting before renascences up to these days. I call upon our children to visit this scientific arts center to look at the education history of their country .and I forward my thanks to the people who worked hard to bring this great project to reality”.

Museum Halls

And about the components and display halls at the museum, Mrs. Hafidh bint Marhoon Al Siabiah, art supervisor at the museum said: “The museum comprised of 12 independent halls that operates using electromagnetic cards with variety of methods of display: as some are screening and other which adapts an interactive methods to involve the visitors using question and answers about facts and information on education history and development story in Oman. It also contained information rich resources about the books and, number of students, school co-curricular activities and text books being implemented at the school at that time and its leading position as a beacon of knowledge for the community”.
