HE Dr Madeha bint Ahmed Al Shibaniah, Minister of Education, received on Monday in her office in the Ministry Sir Vernon Ellis, Chair of British Council who is currently visiting the Sultanate. At the beginning of the meeting HE welcomed the guest and discussed ways to develop cooperation between the Ministry and The British Council regarding the implementation of some programs and projects such as professional development for teachers, schools principals, vocational guidance specialists and other programs concerned both teachers and students such as connecting classrooms, Kids Reading Programs and Springboard Women’s Development Programs.

They also discussed ways of cooperation in the future especially in electronic learning and expanding the implementation of number of projects to cover more governorates and include larger number of beneficiaries.

Also they talked about Kids Reading Project being implemented recently and similar programs to it in Arabic language in order to encourage kids to read in Arabic language outside schools premises. The meeting was attended by Paul Doubleday, General Director of British Council in the Sultanate.
