HE Dr. Madiha bent Ahmed Al-Shaibaniya, the Minister of Education; attended through the period from 2-4 Dec 2013 the meetings of Institute of International UNESCO for Educational Planning in its fifty second session in at the Institution in Paris.

The Board Council of the Institute of choosing members of high functional levels who have long experience in the field of educational planning and education policy-making, so the election of the Ministry of Education in the Institution membership is an expression of the importance and status of the Sultanate in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the interest in cooperating and joint action in the areas of competence of the Organization.

The meetings discuss several important subjects including the adoption of a medium- term plan 2014-2017 which were among priorities to strengthen the capability of member states on building its capability in Educational Planning field; also it discuss the adoption of institution work plan for the year 2014-2015.

Note that International UNISCO institution for Educational planning was established in 1963 a decision of the General conference of UNISCO which organizationally followed the Educational sector in the organization.

The institution is a leading and unique enterprise in the world in the policy making of planning and managing in educational and vocational developing for educators. Also, it devote its efforts to support the Governments in planning and managing its educational systems to be able to achieve the national goals as well as development goals that internationally agreed in the framework of cooperating between member states in UNISCO, United Nation, and other international organizations.

The institution celebrates its fiftieth anniversary of the establishment through its meetings. Also, it comprised a large measure of autonomy which has its board of directors include 12 members where represented all regions including HE Dr. Madiha Al-Shaibaniya the Minister of Education which represented the Arabic group in this session. The Board of Directors decided the policy and programs of institution, in addition of presenting a periodic reports about the institute acts to the General Conference for UNISCO.
