The project activities started yesterday morning in Muscat Rotana Hotel. This project comes within the cooperation and partnership plan between MOE represented by Undersecretary of Education and Curriculum Office and UNICEF.
The project will implement by experts from Queen Rania Teacher Academy in Jordan during the period from 17 to 21 of November. The first workshop will include Special needs students merge, differentiated education and cooperative education. The project target teachers and supervisors of special needs education and specialties from the ministry.
Shnonah bint Salim Alhabsi, ducational expert in Undersecretary of Education and Curriculum Office and representatives of the Ministry in UNICEF, mentioned that the project goals coincide with Child Rights Convention which the Sultanate ratified in 1996. The teachers will be trained on innovative and creative skills to manage classrooms and to deal with young learners by using educational methods according to international standards and advanced strategies.
Jumana Jaber, specialized in Queen Rania Teacher Academy programs, mentioned that the project will continue to eight months. The first week will discuss three points about special needs student merge, differentiated education and "Teach with Confidence" program. The next stage will focus on teaching and evaluation modern strategies.
DR Khoold Dababnah, Associate Professor in The Hashemite University in Jordan, mentioned that the workshop aims to develop teachers skills in how to deal with special needs students and ways of arrange classrooms environment, curriculum, educational methods and exams to be suitable for all students categories.
