The Third Forum of Supervisors “The Educational Supervisor and leadership skills of the 21st century” was opened last Sunday in Majan Hall in Sohar, entitled ; The events started by a reading from the Holy Quran by Ibrahim AL Farsi, Islamic supervisor from the Human Science section; then an opening speech on the behalf of other educational supervisors given by Ali Al Maqbali, Mathematical senior supervisor, followed by Ali Al-Jahwary who gave a briefing about the national office, the most important achievements and objectives; then concluded by reading the biography of the executive program. Later on Dr. Rashid Hussain addressed the challenges and difficulties face the supervisor in the Educational field.
The supervisors pointed out the challenges they are facing in the educational field as the following: The educational goals are not clearly stated for the supervisors adding to that being assigned with many burdens to do with limited powers given to them and finally the dearth of research and studies in the field of educational supervision.
In the second session, the trainer began with practical aspects where the participants worked in collaborative groups analyzing the educational field according to SWOT which stands on 4 points: power, weakness, opportunities, and threats. As a result of teamwork, some of groups shared what they learned with the others.
It is worth mentioning that the instructor of the program is a participant professor in the Collage of Education in King Saud University. He is also the chairman of Saudi Society for Educational and Psychological Science. He also worked as an English supervisor and as a General Director for Educational Supervision in MOE in KSA.
