Her Excellency the Minister of Education promulgated a ministerial decree (203/2013) hereby to amend the previous ministerial decree (386/2012) on examination timetable and school holidays for 2012/2013 and in the light of the issued directive to adjust weekend holidays for employees in the public and private sectors to fall on Friday and Saturday, beginning May 1, hence , it is decided that the dates of weekend holidays and examinations to be congruent with items (15,16,17,18,19,20,23) as follows:

Item (15): the students deserve a holiday to prepare of semester examinations as follows: 

• (a) The holiday for second semester exams preparation period for classes (5-11) begins on Sunday 26/5/2013 to 27/5/2013.
• (b) The holiday for second semester exams preparation period for 12^th class (National Diploma Certificate) begins on Sunday 26/5/2013 and ends on Monday 3/6/2013.

Item (16):  The examinations of the second semester for classes (5-12) at public schools and private and special needs schools and continuing study schools as follows;

• (a) The exams of (5-10) classes start on Tuesday 28/5/2013 and ends on Monday 3/6/2013.
• (b) The exams of class (11) start on Tuesday 28/5/2013 and ends on Sunday 9/6/2013.
• (c) The National Diploma Classes examinations 12^th Grade , set to roll on Tuesday 4/6/2013 and ends on 20/6/201

Item (18) The summer holiday for 2012/2013 for teachers, administration and affiliated jobs begins on Sunday 30/6/2013 and ends on Thursday 15/8/2013; whereas employees with terminated contracts may leave earlier according to their work obligations.

Item (19): The academic year 2013/2014 shall start on Sunday 18/8/2013.

Item (20): The duty of teachers and administration and affiliated jobs at schools starts on Sunday 18/8/2013.

Item (23): The pupils' duty for 2013/2014 starts on Sunday 1/9/2013.
