Ministry of Education, represented by Oman Educational Portal won award for best portal in the category of development sectors in  Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in the second competition for Gulf e-government  , which is held in Kuwait in conjunction with second Gulf e-government Conference and Exhibition , which continues until November 15th.  

This award included specialists arbitrators in information technology from all gulf countries and international arbitrators in order to reach high level of credibility and objectivity in the evaluation of the projects participating. The conference and exhibition of the award, which began on 13 November, gave an opportunity to exchange experiences and look closely on Gulf e-government projects. The award categories include best e-service, best e-content and best government-to-government project, best official e-portal for the country and the best e-portal in the field of development sectors.
This award reflects the efforts by the Ministry of Education in the field of information technology and accelerates the transition to e-government, which is part of the Oman Digital strategy.

 Educational Portal Awards:

1- First place award for best website in Sultanate of Oman in 2007.
2- First place award for best educational website in Sultanate of Oman in 2007.
3- Third place in the category of best educational website in Sultanate of Oman in 2008.
4- Second place in the category of best electronic project in E-digital Oman Award in 2009.
5- Second place award for best educational website in Sultanate of Oman in 2010.
6- Best Arabic e-content in Sultanate of Oman in 2010.
7- Innovative Design award of E-government Shield Award in Arab world in 2010.
8- Second place award in the category of ministries websites for Arab region in 2010.
9- First place award in United Nations competition in the category of improving services delivery to the public in 2011.
10- Middle East Award for best e-initiatives in 2011.
11- First place award in the category of ministries websites for the Arab region in 2011.
12- Visual innovation award of E-government Shield Award Competition in Arab World in 2011.
13- Second place award for best educational website in Sultanate of Oman in 2011.
14- Best e-portal award in the category of development sectors in GCC in 2011.
