Within the celebrations of the Sultanate of the International Year of Chemistry 2011, and in conjunction with the celebrations of the international community declared by the General Assembly of the United Nations to celebrate the achievements of chemistry and its contributions to life,
yesterday morning (Saturday) H.E. Sheikh / Mohammed bin Hamdan Al Tobi, adviser in the Ministry of Education, inaugurates the opening ceremony, a training seminar entitled Technology in teaching chemistry, organized by the Directorate General of curriculum development.
Dr. Nabhan bin Saif Al Lamki Director General of Directorate General of curriculum development gave the ministry word. He said: Due to the importance of chemistry in human civilization and its impact on the economy, environment and industry, the General Assembly in the United Nations adopted 2011, an International Year of Chemistry.
Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Najjar, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs in Technological Studies college at Kuwait University, President of Chemical Society in Kuwaiti gave a lecture in which he pointed to the role of chemistry in life. He also pointed to the experiences of many countries that contributed to the chemistry and benefit from it, as well as the results achieved by countries in the field of chemistry. He also talked about the importance of chemistry in schools because of its role in contemporary life.
