The Ministry of Education and Occidental Oman signed an agreement to support the project of providing school buses with safety and security devices yesterday. HE.Dr.Madiha Al Shibaniyah,the Minster of Education signed the agreement on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Stephen Kelly, President and General Manager of Occidental Oman, Mustafa Al Abdel Lateef, Undersecretary of MoE for Administration and Finance with presence of a number of Directors General and others. Also, the signing agreement took place in the MoE# Cabinet in Muscat. In addition, Dr.Ali Al Jahwari, the Director General of Education at Muscat Governorate and the Head of Technical Team of "Safety on School Buses" Project pointed out that the agreement reflected the partnership between the Ministry of Education and private sector, to install the system of safety and security for 1994 school buses in Muscat governorate at a cost of more than 40000 Omani rails. In addition, he added that under this agreement would begin to install these devices with the company that will get the tender for the purchase and installation of devices, and the implementation will be during the academic year. After that, Ibrahim Al Wihaibi, the Section Head of Database at the IT Department at Ministry delivered a presentation of website of the system, which can give a direct tracking via education portal and parents application. He also added that the bus connected via satellite by a chip to transfer all the data over Internet to all servers in the Ministry. The bus is equipped with a camera, which located on the back and front of the bus. This camera is to monitor traffic around the bus to avoid accidents. In addition, a reader device can read student#s magnetic cards, which shows the bus driver numbers of students during entry and exit, and send a message to the parents of the departure of their sons and daughters from the bus.
