MoE Signs Agreement of Renewable Energy Project

The Ministry of education (MoE) signed an agreement with SMN Power Company, Al Sawadi Power Company and Al Batinah Power Company to implement solar system project in Hafiz bin Saeed School (5-9) in Liwa in Al Batinah North Governorate. The signing ceremony took place in the Ministry#s Cabinet in Muscat. Also, the agreement signed by HE. Mustafa Abd Al Lateef, the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Finance and Administration Affairs ,Ali Al Habsi, the Director of SMN Company, Navait, the CEO of Al Sawadi Power Company, and Yaqoob Al Harthi, the CEO of Al Batinah Power Company and Abdullah Al Rawahi ,the CEO of Al Kamil Power Company with presence of Soud Al Habsi,the Director General for Projects and Maintenance and others.
In addition, the Undersecretary of Ministry for Finance and Administration declared that the project included design, installation and operation of photovoltaic systems in a parallel network on the roof of Hafiz bin Saif School (5-9) and he added that the system expected to be able to generate power ranging from "eighty" kilos Watt to 100 kW / day at the site using photovoltaic technology and connected directly to the main 400-volt volt keyboard at the school. The project aimed to exploit renewable energy from local environment, to reduce greenhouse gas and heat, introduce students with concepts of the importance of energy and to conserve our environment form destruction.
It is worth mentioning that the agreement is a part of the Ministry of Education efforts to exploit the renewable natural resources, reduce the increasing consumption of electricity in the Ministry#s buildings using the latest technology. The project also provides up to forty-eight kilowatts of electricity daily through "Solar energy will be installed in the school with a capacity of 325 watts per unit; in addition to providing the Umbrella because it is a suitable and safe place to carry out school activities. Moreover, the energy generated during the weekly or summer holidays, will sell to the electricity company that feeds the region. In addition, this project is the second project implemented by the same previous group of companies and is part of the corporate vision to promote awareness of the importance of clean energy and the sustainability and renewable energy sources for the new generation of Omanis
