His Majesty Sultan Qaboos directs to establish National Centre for Educational Evaluation and Examination
In a statement by Her Excellency Dr.Madiha bent Ahmed Al Shibaniah Minister of Education: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos ben Saeed -May Allah protect him- has directed to establish a National Centre for Educational Evaluation and Examination from the current year 2011/2012.
Her Excellency said that the centre aims to develop educational measurement and evaluation tools as they are important topics in the educational system to raise efficiency in the educational process. This centre will provide true indicators to measure and assess students’ achievements in all levels from grade 1 to grade 12. This centre will also help to build high quality test items which will contribute in determining the real educational performance of students and use the results to diagnose the difficulties they face in their study and how to solve them.
Her Excellency Minister of Education added in a statement to Oman news that his Majesty also directs to raise the budget for professional development for more than three times from the current year 2011/2012 in order to support training programs and associated jobs to improve the quality of education.
