Ministry of Education (MoE) announced the Excellence Awards for Omani teachers from the beginning of the academic year 2018-2019 and the registration would be through the award web site ( www.ota.moe.gov.om ) which include the instructions and updates of award. In addition, the enrollment will be in January and February. HE.Dr.Humood Al Harthi, the Undersecretary of Ministry of Education for Curriculum and Head of Supervision Committee of Award pointed out that the award is part of the national initiatives to highlight the role of teachers for contributing to the communities through effective educational practices and teaching methods. He also added that the award based on a modern educational approach and best standards in which the Education Council is looking forward to create an effective educational movement in order to enhance education and build an aware educated generation. Moreover, Dr.Al Harthi referred to procedures taken by the Ministry of Education and said that when the Education Council was issued, supervisory committee was set up at the Ministry of Education with membership of various educational entities such as Ministry of Higher Education, Sultan Qaboos University and concerned directorates at Ministry. These entities worked together to prepare time plan for award, implement the website requirements and technical aspects. On the other hand, Dr Said Al Rubaie, the Secretary General of Education Council clarified the importance of excellence award for Omani teachers in encouraging creative initiatives at education filed, enhancing teachers to develop educational work and conduct appropriate learning environment for students. The award aimed to enhance the excellent teachers in government schools to highlight their excreted efforts and encourage them to promote education process.
