The National Competition for Reading 2018/2019 in Al Batina North held in AlBatina Hall in Directorate General of Education in Sohar. Four schools are qualified to the final which will be held on Thursday, 15/11/2018 at the Sultan Qaboos Mosque in Sohar. The winning schools in the category of male schools were Abdullah bin Abbas Basic Education School in the first place and came in the second place Imam Rabie bin Habib Basic Education School, in the category of girls school in the first place Maryam Bint Omran and in second Ateka School. The competition aims to spread the culture of reading, promote the spirit of knowledge competition among young people, promote the values of citizenship and belonging by reading books related to the country to provide information and knowledge in many fields as well as achieving the principle of partnership between the National Youth Committee and the Ministry of Education.
