Qualifying Teachers-Standards and Competencies Seminar Kicks off in Muscat

Under the patronage of H.E.Dr.Saeed Al Rubae, Education Council Secretary-General, Oman National Committee for Education, Culture and Science organized a national seminar titled ´Qualifying Teacher-Standards and Competencies# in Levatio Hotel and coincide with the teacher world day, which marks 5 October every year. The seminar aimed to highlight the Sultanate efforts in training and qualifying teachers and educational cadres at various fields.
In addition, the seminar began with the committee speech delivered by Amna Al Blushiah,the Assistant od Education Council Secretary-General of the National Committee for Education, Culture and Science where she said that UN adopted the sustainable development objectives including the fourth objective that stipulates #ensuring equitable and comprehensive education for everybody and enhancing lifelong learning opportunities and among them the core objectives(8)which focuses on achieving a big increase of qualified teachers numbers through global cooperation to train teachers in developing countries by 2030.Also,she added that the Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Education exerted great efforts to develop and train teachers and associated jobs over successive years and through career development programs and training workshops organized by the Directorate General for HR Development
Moreover, Al Blushiah pointed out that the Education Council announced the Education Excellence Award in the academic year 2017/2018 and which is a national educational award awarded every two years to Omani teachers to highlight their efforts, encourage them and promote the education process. The award will be launched during the current academic year 2018-2019.After that, Dr.Bader Al Kharusi, the Director General for HR Development presented the main paper titled ´the Policies to Prepare and Qualify teacher in Oman’ who discussed the education progress at the Sultanate .Also, the first session started with a work paper title ´enabling a teacher is trust and perfection ´ by Amal Al Rashdiah and Bader Al Khaet and the second session included three work papers presented by Dr.Ameera Al Shabeebah from the Teacher Professional Specialized Center and Dr.Sultan Al Nabi from High Sulatan Qaboos Center for Science and Culture and Gassan Al Shattaer from Nizwa University.
