Under the patronage of Dr.Humood Al Harthi, the Undersecretary of Ministry of Education, English language forum kicked off in the Directorate General of Education at Al Batinah North Governorate, in presence of 300 researchers, supervisors and teachers. The forum came under the title (Modern Technology and English Teaching) which included 21 work papers that discussed the updates and future views of English language teaching in modern technology programs. Also, Sohar University and Sohar Aluminum Company sponsored the event. Moreover, the forum considered as a pioneering scientific phenomenon to exchange experiences in learning and technology field, which aimed to create fertile environment to discuss latest studies and researches and view successful initiatives, field experiences, and modern teaching methods in teaching process. At the beginning, the attendances watched a short film in English about modern technology projects in the governorate schools and the patron of the event honored the worksheets presenters like Dr.Ali Al Issa from SQU. After that, the presenters of work papers discussed a number of issues in various halls such as activation of Edmodo application in English language teaching, telling stories using video shows, using Mouse Mischief, how to use the social media networks in teaching and activation technology to attract students attention to develop spelling skill. In addition, Saeed Al Mayaasi, the First Supervisor of English language at Al Batinah North Directorate said that the English forum gave the opportunities to the unique projects to activate technology in schools in order to learn English language and Khawla Al Blushi, English Language Supervisor added that she benefited from attending the work papers which encourage teachers how to deal with school environment positively and use technology in teaching process.
