The Honorable Shaikh ,Ahmed bin Abu Baker Al Zubaidi, the State Council Member presided over the opening ceremony of Oman Science Festival 2017 in Salalah and in presence of Dr.Saif Al Mamri, the Adviser to the Minister of Education, Dr.Al Waleed Al Hinai, the Director General of Educational Directorate in Dhofar Governorate ,Directors General and others. Moreover, the opening ceremony began with the reciting of the Holy Quran by Ahmed Al Hilali from Dhofar Basic Education School (boys).Then, Mohammed Al Kaaf, the Head of Education Evaluation Department delivered a speech where he clarified the events of the festival which included a number of programs and activities that targeted visitors from various ages .He added also that festival events included diverse aspects such as technology, math, engineering, robots and sciences. He pointed out that the event aimed to encourage the students to explore and search by applying various experiments. The ceremony included a film about Oman Science Festival 2017 in its 1st edition and a national song by the students of Salalah Basic Education (10-12) classes. At the end, the Honorable Shaikh, the occasion patron honored the participating institutions in the festival. Then, the scientific exhibition was opened and which included scientific projects and innovations. A number of Dhofar schools and colleges participated in the exhibition by robot shows and private schools outstanding activities. It is worth mentioning that part of events of Oman Science Festival will continue its event in Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in Muscat from 26 to 28 October with the participation from educational governorates.
