Dr.Shaikh Al Waleed Al Hinai,the Director General of Education in Dhofar Governorate presided over the opening ceremony of the 1st GCC scouting forum for youth in the permanent scouting camp hall in Ashaur Mountain. At the beginning pf the ceremony,Ibtisam Al Amri, the Director General Assistant at the Directorate General of Scout and Guides delivered a speech where she said that the Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate General of Education for Scouts and Guides organized the 1st GCC scouting forum in Ashour Mountain at Dhofar Governorate in coinciding with the Sultanate celebration of renaissance that is led by His Majesty ,the Sultan Qabos . Also, she added that organizing the event is to meet decisions of the global scout conferences such as the 33rd Global Scout Conference which was in Thailand in 1993 and the Arab Scout Conference in Cairo, 2007.Moreover,Ibtisam assured that the scout forum aimed to create new generation able to take responsibility in making decisions ,prepare them to participate in scout conferences and meetings in future ,formulate recommendations and voting. After that, a number of scouts sport activities and training programs held during the event such as world scouts medals and the role of scouts to keep environment in securely.
