Special Education Department Conducts a Dialogue Session " For You " in Muscat

The Special Education Programs Department, represented by Al Fikriyah Education School organized a dialogue session (For You) in coinciding with World Down Syndrome Day. It targeted the various media networks and parents of intellectual disability students to be aware of their rights, duties and available work opportunity. Also, the session aimed to find communication channels between government and national institutions that concern the intellectual individuals, to spread the awareness among people in the society and its institutions, to involve them in the diverse society categories and highlight the successful initiatives in relation to intellectual disability employment field.
In addition, the session chaired by Khalfan Al Asmi, the TV and Radio Head in the Educational Media Department and started with a visual display of awareness project of intellectual disability which included presented services , practical training for some jobs ,students impressions about their training and qualification and meetings with officials of governments sector .After that, a number of work papers from the Ministry of Manpower, Social Development Ministry and Moe were presented during the session. At the end, the attendees discussed various issues and recommendations.
