The Social Media Symposium Kicks off in Al Batinah North

Under the patronage of Dr.Khalid Al Blushi, the Assistant Head of Educational Programs for Activities and Students Care ,the IT Department at the North Directorate General of Education implemented a social media networks symposium in the meetings hall of Sultan Qaboos Mosque in Sohar. It aimed to identify the positive and negative aspects of social media networks and the Omani law at in social media networks field. Also, the symposium
targeted the social specialists at Al Batinah North Schools.
At the beginning, Dr. Saeed Al Miqballi from Isnaad Technology Company and Training presented a lecture about social media platforms where he talked about various issues such as the positive and negative roles of the social networks in educational process, the importance of social media networks in life currently ,electronic blackmail cases ,how to deal with the social media and personal assurance in social media platforms. Then, Saeed Al Miqbali, the Head of Public Prosecution in Shinas discussed the electronic blackmail in relation to its occurrences via the emails messages, girl’s blackmails, clarifying legislations and rules about IT Crimes and the danger of social media networks for children. After that, Kalthoom Al Miqbali presented another lecture about the social media sites from social Perspective where she talked about many topics such as the social networks affections on the individual’s life and health, family disintegration and social media addiction. At the end,
the patron of the occasion honored the work papers presenters.
