On the 24th February of every year, the Ministry of Education celebrates the Omani Teacher’s Day. Oman schools celebrates this morning the occasion of Omani Teacher’s day, in addition it can be considered as a gesture of appreciation from the government and people to the noble efforts and hard work made by teachers and stuff in the field of education. On this occasion, HE Dr. Madiha Al Shaibaniah, Minister of Education delivers a speech directed to all faculty and administrators working in the field of education, in which she extends her sincere congratulations to all teachers in different schools of the Sultanate and she takes the chance to appreciate teacher’s great efforts in educating children and prepare them to contribute building Oman. Moreover, she explains that the teachers have a great responsibility in creating positive changes by developing students’ skills and trained them about scientific thinking and lifelong learning as well as raising the spirit of competition among them, thus ensuring prepare a good citizen who contributes build renaissance of the nation. Her Excellency Minister of Education talks also about professional development programs provided for teachers’ saying that the Ministry takes over a special concern about teachers’ development plans & programs.  Adding, a specialized center for vocational training has been established, acting in line with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Directives, and it considers as a great step in the field of professional development. She said that this professional center will help to improve teaching and learning processes, and the Ministry will continue supporting the center and enabling it to perform the entrusted tasks. Her Excellency concludes the speech by asking Allah to glorify Oman and protect His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, may Allah grant him long life.
