GLOBE annual regional meeting of national coordinators
The annual regional meeting of national coordinators of GLOBE program of countries of the region was held from 9 to 10 in City Seasons Hotel in Muscat. The meeting was chaired by Mrs.Teresa Kennedy, director of international division in the main office of Globe program.
Representatives from 7 countries including UAE, Tunisia, Pakistan, Mauritania, Jordon, Saudi Arabia as well as Oman, the hosting country, attended the meeting to discuss future regional activities for GLOBE and exchange ideas. The meeting was opened by a speech done by Asma bent Salim Al Buloshiah, the national coordinator of the program in Oman. She expressed the importance of this annual meeting of Globe program to improve science, education and international collaboration.
The program is supervised by International Educational Programs Office in Ministry of Education and it is applied in three educational governorates, Muscat, Al Dhahira and North Shrqiya. The program aims to improve the level of environmental awareness, self-learning methods of scientific research, teamwork and level of academic achievement in science, social studies and mathematics.
