South Batinah Educational Governorate Receives HM Cup for School Hygiene
The Directorate-General of Education in the
Governorate of South Al Batinah on Thursday received His Majesty Sultan Qaboos
Cup for School Hygiene for the academic year 2015/2016.
The presentation ceremony was held at Rustaq College
of Applied Science under the auspices of Shaikh Saif bin Mohammed al Shabibi,
Minister of Housing, in the presence of Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniyah,
Minister of Education, and a number of officials in the governorate.
Buraimi governorate won the second place. The event was attended by some members of the Majlis
Ash’shura, defence and security personnel and prominent educationists.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamdan al Toobi, adviser at the
Ministry of Education, said the aim of the award “was to encourage maintenance
of hygiene and health in schools as envisaged by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos in a
ministerial decree No 56/91”. He appreciated team work which fetched South
Batinah the top place in this competition. The ceremony included singing of
patriotic songs by the students.
