The International Education Association(IEA) for Educational evaluation will be   announced the results of International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) on Tuesday afternoon which was  held in 2015  and by the participation of the  Sultanate represented by the Ministry of Education.

In addition , the International Education Association runs  the study which targets   4^th and 8^th class for four years . Also,(TIMSS)) study includes various elements such as the revision of  general frame of the study ,creating  new questions at Math and Science and study questionnaires review. Then testing initial version of these tools a year ago from
the main application that includes the study questionnaires that have been revised from the pilot  survey phase and questions that have been selected from the  experimentation  stage and repeated questions of the previous  courses to measure  the performance of countries (the extent of development or decline).  The Sultanate began to participate in this study, in its fourth TIMSS2007 in the eighth grade  only and participated in the next round TIMSS2011 in the fourth and eighth grades and continued to involve in both grades at the sixth session TIMSS2015. Moreover,the main purpose  to continue  participating  in   this study is to
Control and monitor  the  students#  performance trends in math and science and  identify improvements and  aspects that need to be reviewed and the development of learning and teaching  the mathematics and science subjects .Also , the Sultanate participated in the
 study by a random sample represented  of 254 public schools from all governorates of the Sultanate Grade four , and 255 eighth-grade schools , and is also involved 25 private school for fourth grade and 27 Eighth-grade schools I and  21 international schools in the fourth grade and 19 in grade eighth   and  the a total of 601 schools for grades
Fourth and eighth.
