In the context of the emerging partnership with the Oman Astronomical Society, the educational portal participates as an electronic sponsor of the astronomical exhibition associated with the 10th Arab Conference on Astronomy and Space Sciences.

It was held in cooperation with the International Astronomical Union (IAU), the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), the U.S. space agency (NASA), European Space Agency (ESA)) and Inter Islamic Network on Space Sciences and Technology. It was supported by Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Scientific Research Council and Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science in the period of 5 to 8 of February 2012 in the Great Hall at Sultan Qaboos University’s cultural Centre.

The educational portal participates in this important event to achieve its strategy of introducing the electronic services provided to the public, especially since the exhibition attracts a large number of students, teachers and parents, which will create excellent opportunities to communicate with them and explain ways to take advantage of services in addition to displaying the idea of the project to visitors and guests of the conference from outside the Sultanate, which enhances the national achievements. 

The partnership between the Ministry of Education represented by educational portal and the Oman Astronomical Society gave the Society an opportunity to advertise for the conference through the means of communication and advertising in the portal. Text messages to teachers and parents were sent about the opening of the events of the conference. Also the conference advertisement was published in the Educational Forum of the educational portal and publishing an article about the conference and adding links for the conference activities and Oman astronomical Society website which is browsed by a large number of visitors every day.

Oman Educational Portal has begun implementing its strategic plan to introduce its electronic services to the public in different occasions inside and outside the Sultanate.  Posters and billboards were distributed in different parts of Muscat governorate such as shopping centers. Also there is a specialized team spreads the goals, visions and services of the educational portal in different events like Al Qurm Natural Park at Muscat Festival, astronomer conference at Sultan Qaboos University, Info Connect for information technology and integrated solutions in Kuwait, the fifth session of Gulf exhibition for Supplies and Educational Solutions and World Education Forum which will be held in the United Arab Emirates this February.
