Al Wusta Directorate, represented by supervising committee (PIRLS 2016) & Mr. Shafi Al Hakmani, Assistant Director for HR Development and Dr. Salim Al Ma'ashani, Al Wosta Administration Director, takes importance over the international study (PIRLS 2016) in order to achieve real indicators of conscious reading level among fourth-grade. Various preparations are going on different field, such as media field where public relations and education media sections highlights all educational activities and events for the study since the application of beta test at the beginning of March, 2016 and keens to issue a number of awareness posters and products videos through interviews with parents and so post them on different social media. Leaflets and posters were distributed to schools and students, and awareness paintings were put at the hospitals' entrances, health centers and the offices of governors. Moreover, schools were conducted many competitions among fourth graders targeted conscious reading verbally and in writing. The groups of Learning Resource, School Journalism and Broadcasting had an important role in raising awareness and conducting competitions and distributing gifts for students and teachers. Sub-Media Committee had great efforts in providing all elements for school administrations, parents, teachers and students to have the international study exams (PIRLS 2016) scheduled at the beginning of next April in order to put the Sultanate in the proper position, therefore reflect efforts done by the Department of Education at Al Wosta Governorate.
