General Directorate of Education, represented by Educational Awareness and Student Welfare Section of Educational Programs Department, conducted a family forum entitled '' Live Safely''. The forum held  in Jibreen Hall in Intercontinental Hotel under the auspices of Eng. Essam bin Saud al-Zadjali, CEO of Oman Oil Company and  in the presence of Mr. Khamis bin Mubarak ,Assistant Director-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and a number of educators, staff, students and parents. It targeted to raise awareness about the importance to protect adults from drugs' scourge and explain health, psychological and social effects of drug use. The forum targeted also several categories; including School Principals, Social Workers, psychologists, students of cycle 2, Senior Teachers, Schools' Nurses, and Heads of Parents' Council in Schools. Then, Mr. Mubarak Al Mashari, Assistant Director started  the forum with a speech where he explained the family effects on students and expressed that this forum came to complete previous programs provided by students' awareness section. Moreover, the forum included different worksheets in which many topics discussed, such as the role of awareness programs in fighting drugs and its psychotropic substances, develop a common policy in order to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs among medical and security institutions, and constructed unified awareness programs included Royal Oman Police, National Committee, Al Masarrat hospital and active awareness associations
