The Sultanate participates with world countries in celebrating the World Teacher Day that marks October 5 each year.  It comes under the title "enable teachers  ... Building sustainable communities " this year  .Also Mohammed bin Sulayem Al Yacoubi,the  Secretary of Oman National Commission for Education , Culture and Science , said:  that the teacher is the  quality ´s educational  key  , where teachers are not just a means  to implement the aims of education , but they're  the key of sustainable and national capacities  to fulfill  learning and  build societies that based on knowledge , values and morality .Also he added that the celebration this year based on enabling teachers  to accomplish good education and build sustainable societies . .
In addition, he added that the Ministry of Education considered teachers as most important category and foundation stone to generate highly quality education.Therfore, the Ministry provides them with a number of educational training programs to promote their skills and provide them with new information and modern theories in learning modern techniques in teaching.
In he also mentioned that annual report of career development for the academic year 2014, pointed out that the teacher was ranked first in terms of the number of beneficiaries of training programs, which amounted 63%, where the numbers of teachers reached 33499, which participated in 966 training programs. After that Al Yacoubi, talked about the Oslo Summit, which was held in July 2015, discussed the need for more investment to increase the numbers of teachers, so the Sultanate established the Specialized Center for Professional Training of teachers, which starts gradual expansion of quality programs in the Governorates Educational.
At the end, the Ministry completes the recruitments procedures in the different   teaching fields, with the appointment of (976) teachers who passed written tests and interviews, where the total number of teachers in public schools are (56 600) for the academic year 2015/2016 and these teachers are teaching approximately (551 867) students.
