A Lecture about breastfeeding and work in Al Buraimi Governorate
The Educational Programs Department represented by Educational Awareness and Student Welfare Section in collaboration with Health Services Department held the lecture in the occasion of World Breastfeeding Week 2015.The lecture discussed breastfeeding and working women are facing major challenges and they needs support to succeed in both processes work and breastfeeding because of it benefits for the health of the mother and the child together. In addition MS. Laila Al Ayahyaiah, Dietitian at the Directorate General of Health Services in Al Buraimi Governorate mentioned that the longer breastfeeding is the best food for the baby during the first six months and afterwards starts to add foods along with the breastfeeding. She mentioned also the health benefits of breastfeeding and how a working mother successfully combine work and breastfeeding through planning during pregnancy, motherhood vacation and the organize their time when they return to work. At the end, she discussed ways of keeping milk, validity date and preservation containers.
