Schools Books Censorship committee promulgated to control the selection and reviewing of procured books for learning resources centres at schools convicted its third meeting recently in the ministry cabinet.
Dr Saeed Al Amri , advisor to the minister of education for educational media , headed the meeting in presence of committee members. The agenda included a number of topics about the descriptive and analytic information gathered about books reviewing process and the action plan to handle these notifications.
The committee is formed as censorship tool to review the books in line with Omani Educational curriculum philosophy and in order to classify its levels in term of cultural and age appropriateness.
