   The Ministry of Education, , today announced that it has achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification ;  the certificate is awarded to the General Directory of Planning and Quality Assurance, the General Directory of Administration Affairs, The General Directory of Education in Muscat Governorate, The General Directory of Education in Southern Batinah Governorate, The General Directory of Education in Northern Sharqiah, The General Directory of Education inAl-Dhahirah.
   Attaining this high-level certification for the strength of its quality assurance system highlights the ministry’s commitment to continually improving its operational performance and underscores its ability to meet customer needs.
Established by the International Organization for Standardization, ISO 9001:2008 is a set of standards related to quality management systems designed to enable organizations to ensure they meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders, while complying with statutory and regulatory requirements. As the world’s most recognizable quality management standard, the ISO 9001:2008 standard helps organizations increase the efficiency of operations, realize cost savings and continually improve the quality of products and services.
Her Excellency Dr. Madeha Bint Ahmed Al-Shaibaniyah said: “Adapting the ISO 9001:2008 certification as a goal was set in by the  ministry’s eighths five years strategy three years earlier ; In achieving ISO 9001:2008 certification, the MOE and it’s General Directories in the Governorates  is able to highlight its commitment to providing clients at schools with the highest level of quality assurance and can ensure its operational performance meets customer needs operations. Moreover, the certification demonstrates the ministry’s ability to deliver reforms and a well-defined quality management system that complies with the most stringent international standards while motivating and further engaging its employees with more efficient internal processes . This achievement coincides with the country’s celebration of the 44th National Day , I seize the occasion to dedicate this achievement to His Majesty The Sultan, May Allah the Almighty protect him, and to the ministry’s employees and clients ”.
