English Language Section in Al Batina North Directorate lunched “lets read to succeed” program sponsored by Sohar Power Company. The program is set for 100 schools in the Directorate and 21 thousand students will benefit from it.  The program aimed to develop students skills in reading fluency, understanding, writing, dictation, vocabulary and grammar. The project includes implementation of number of programs and strategies to develop English Language especially reading skills such as Jolly Phonics, Phonemic Awareness, Oral Repeated Reading, Guided Reading, Word Wall and Dolch List of High Frequency Words.
Anwar Al Bulushi, Senior English Supervisor mentioned the importance of the strategies and programs implemented in this program which will facilitate students understanding of reading articles content and develop their reading and spelling skills. He added that they have assigned two lessons for grades one and two and one lesson for grades three to eight to implement this educational program. Finally he assured that the program will be evaluated within two stages, within the school itself and among other schools. It is worth mentioning that the winning schools and students will be awarded.
