Let’s Read to Succeed: New English Language Program launched in Sohar.
The English Language Department in North Batinah Governorate launched a new program “ Let’s Read to Succeed” for classes (1-8) of Basic Education Schools; where 100 schools with 21 thousand pupils are engaged in the program.
The program is designed to promote students’ academic abilities and heighten students fluency and confidence in the four skills of English: listening comprehension, speaking , reading, spelling and vocabulary threshold and writing .
The programs implements a number of strategies and methods such as Jolly Phonics, Phonemic awareness, Guided Reading, Word wall, Oral Repeated Reading, Dolch list of high, frequency words.
Driven by its duty towards its stakeholders, Sohar Power is actively involved in the community it lives in. The Company’s Corporate and Social Responsibility activities are primarily focused on educational projects in the North Batinah region, close to its operations in Sohar. These initiatives are addressed to students, teachers and the society in general.
