Saud Al Baluchi confers with the schools’ headmasters participating in (TIMSS2015) international program
His Excellency Saud Bin Salim Al Balushi, Undersecretary of Education Planning and Human Resources Development presided over the preparatory meeting for schools’ principals, participating in TIMSS2015 program at Hormiz Grand Muscat Hotel. The meeting aims to evaluate schools readiness for the piloting phase of the program.
The program is designed to measure the national systems differences in Maths and Science subjects in the Sultanate; with intention to refine the education systems among the countries around the world.
During the meeting, His Excellency Saud emphasized the central role of this meeting, which comes to address the first phase (piloting phase) of the preparation plans set for (TIMSS2015); and to review the headmasters’ supplementary plans for the interest of best revenue and results.
Then Mr Ali Al Rasbi, Deputy Manager of International Programs at the Directorate General of Educational Evaluation presented a paper about the study results of the pilot phase of (TIMSS2007) program, and underlined the incentives that qualify the schools to advance and score an average of (500 points). He also pointed out the affecting factors that influence study’s overall score.
