With cooperation of the Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and science and the Arab League for Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) The Arab program for the development of curricula and employ IT in teaching and learning workshop is held from 3rd to 5th November, 2014 in Hurmez Grand Hotel Muscat. The workshop comes within the framework of implementation the educational development plan in the Middle East to improve education quality that adapted by ALECSO and implemented by experts of the National Technologies Centre in Tunis.
The workshop included two working sessions, in the first session by Dr Abdullah Al Kharousi, Educational Expert in Directorate General of Development Curricula, mentioned that technology revolution leads to review and renew the educational policies and programs constantly. Also, he added that the educational system of the sultanate concentrates on learning competencies and the importance of linking between educational outcomes and labour market requirements. Mohammed Balrashed , Expert in ALECSO, mentioned that the quality of education system in the Arab world is not up to standards ,therefore, ALECSO adopted this program. The program consists of five sub programs including early childhood, teachers applied polices, curricula development, research on quality and entrepreneur fields and employ IT and communication in learning. The second session continues today focusing on preparing assessments in curricula field, ICT skills according to the tools that have been done in the frame work of the Arab program for the development of curricula and employ IT and communication in teaching and learning techniques.
