His Excellency Humood Al Harthy ,Undersecretary for Education and Curricula presided over the ministry celebration of the White Stick Day in Omar Bin Khattab Institute for Blinds.
The event started with His Excellency entering the White Stick Dark Tent holding the white stick , mimicking blind man real life, where he attended Science class about human body. The students used the touching sense to recognize the body parts. Then they moved to IT class where the students demonstrated their ability to login to various social media applications and use it to communicate with others.   
Then they moved to Artwork class of fine arts ,where they demonstrated their ability in painting using different fabrics and colors , followed by music class where they listened to live performance of soulful melodies .Then the group arrived at PE class, where they playyed table tennis depending on their hearing instead of seeing. Finally the tent events came to end and the scouts saluted the visitors goodbye .
 At the end of the event His Excellency said : “I have stepped in blind man shoe as an experience, it’s really a unique experience that transfer you to another realm; in which you find yourself  transferred into untried world where you feel annoyed at the beginning, but then this feeling will quickly fade away and be replaced by admire and respect for its people; for the reason that having intermingled with them and saw their inspirations and agility and the go-getting dreams they hold”.    
It is worth to mention that, the white stick celebration has first started 34 years back , and it aims to emphasize the need to give blind people more channels to participate in public life and to shade a light on their unlimited determination for development they possess.
