‘My Book’ initiative honours the Young Story Writers
Recently, coinciding with the Book International Day; The ‘My Book’ reading Initiative held an honouring ceremony for the winners of the first competition of ‘Schools’ story writing’ at Al Qurm Commercial Centre. The ceremony included a reading session for children by Siham Al Riyami, author of ‘Once Upon the time in Oman’ story book. The children also made some drawings and story reading competitions.
The competition panel received more than 100 story from schools; the panel of arbitrators was headed by story wtiter Azhar Ahmed and a number of pedagogy specialists. The results came as follows : The first place for Al Hassen Bin Ali Al Adawi from level 2. The second place for Amjed Bin Bader Al Amri , level 4, The 3rd place for Al Montsir Bin Ali Al Maskri , the 5th level.
Nasra Bint Mohamed Al Awfiah , General Supervisor of the initiative said that the contest is avid to disseminate reading habits among the youngsters and encourage them to express themselves throw story writing.
