The Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program implemented a two days’ workshop in the training Center in AL Khuwair. The program targeted the teachers at the schools implementing the program.
The workshop included a paper on recent developments and program’s plans for current academic year 2014/2015 by Nadhirah Al Harthiah ,the chief coordinator of the program in Oman. The second paper was on Scientific researching approach , by Ahmed Moosa ,a certified trainer in the center. A paper on strategic planning and work management at school in terms of regular tasks and new installed protocols presented by Bader BIN Nassir Al Hassani.
The main paper of the workshop was introduced by Nassir Al Rajhi and Nassir Al Mamari who transferred their experience on (Soil Moisture Active and Passive mission) SMAP which uses satellite-based global network in monitoring soil moisture at a local level .The experience which they have attended in India GLOBE program provides field-level information. The program is also useful in terms of inducing hand on tasks for students and developing students capabilities in Math’s .
It is worth to mention that the program has launched a promotional Facebook page in order to increase the many interested in preserving ecosystems in the community.
