The Special Education Department held a training program in Safeer Continental Hotel for Academic Performance Development for learning difficulties specialist .The program lasts from 20th to 24th of October2012.  

The activities of Out Ward Bound activities continue its activities in cooperation with Ministry of Education. The events are carried out in different governorates and involve school’s children of both sexes.  

The HR department in Northern Batinah Governorate held a forum for In-service Professional Development 2012/2013.The ministry of education propelled the directories to set up an independent work plan for2013.       

The awareness and students’ edification section in the educational Programs in Al-Buraimi Governorate held a meeting for school headmasters and schools social workers .The meeting was chaired by Abdullah Al-Dhahri, the regions superintendent.         

Under the patronage of the governor of Al-Rustaq, His Excellency Sheikh Ali bin Ahmed Bin Mishari Al-Shamsi, the Education Directory in Southern Batinah held a ceremony to honor 170 students announced to be savvy achievers excelled in the Cognitive Knowledge Skills Development Program in Math &Science and Environment for the past academic year 2011/2012.

The Cent village in Bahla started occupying the new school building designated for girls .The school inauguration casted happiness and joy for the indwellers of the premises where girls would be able to study in the morning from now and on. The school comprises twenty five classrooms in addition to complete services and facilities to serve four hundred students.  

Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed the Minister of Education received on Saturday morning in her office at the Ministry cabinet an Advisory delegation from Columbia University in the United States of America, currently visiting the Sultanate.During the meeting, they reviewed aspects of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Columbia University in concern to the educational aspects in the field of special education.  

The activities of the55th World Scout Wireless Jamboree and the16th Internet World Scout Jamboree started its broadcasting around the world's six continents stations yesterday using wireless and Internet in Dhofar Governorate Central Campground. The events will continue until Monday, 22nd October 2012.  

Under the patronage of Walli of Ibri Sheikh Saleh bin Diab al-Rubaie, The Directorate General of Education in the Al-Dhahira Governorate yesterday morning held The First Quality Control Forum under the slogan (All Pledge Support to Quality) . The event took place at Al-Massrat Hall amphitheater and attended by the Faculty of Applied Science and government dignitaries.   

The Northern Batinah Educational Directory held its first annual meeting of the Noble Quran Competition supervisors in the presence of Hamad bin Ali Sarhani General Manager of the Directory. During the sessions, a number of teachers reviewed some successful experiences in teaching the Noble Quran to students through the adoption of some systematic schools experiences. The IT General Directory, Ministry Of Education participates in GITEX 2012 shoppers in Dubai. The Exhibition kicked off its events under patronage of Sheik Hamadan Bin Mohamed Al-Maktoom yesterday. GITEX  is the biggest and the best consumer electronics retail platform with power retailers and world class brands .The ministry participations aimed to present best part systems being deployed in the sultanates and also to give-and-take experience with international enterprises.  

Dr. Hamoud bin Khalfan Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education and Curricula, received here yesterday a delegation from the University of Columbia, United States Of America. The meeting reviewed aspects of joint cooperation in the next stage between the ministry and Columbia University in the field of special education. The two sides also discussed the terms of the assessment of special education programs in the Sultanate and aspects of support it would take for their implementation.

The Co-curricular Activities Department in Muscat Directory General of Education is holding a three days’ workshop in Majan Hall in the directory Building. The workshop aimed at developing professional knowledge and skills of Co-curricular activities Specialist in elementary grades (1-4). During the workshop teachers will deliver three working papers designed to promulgate skillful activities process mechanisms and product at schools.  

The Educational Training Centre in Nizwa launched a training program aiming to develop English language skills for teachers of grades II and III of life long Education literacy classes.The program is organized by the Department of Continuing Education at the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Department of Educational Programs in the interior province. Under the auspices of Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Dhahri Assistant Director-General of Al-Buraimi Educational Region , the Department of Student Care inaugurated an Art Gallery in Al-Talaa’ School for Basic Education (1-4(.The exhibition included a workshop for students and teachers aiming to promote and develop positive behavior. The art method helps to reflects some appearances and unwanted behaviors through artistic expression and use them in an orderly plan to achieve the purposes of diagnostic, therapeutic and developmental goals.
