Her Excellency Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al-Shibania, Minister of Education yesterday morning chaired the regular meeting with the general managers of Cabinet of the Ministry and the Directorate-General for Education in different governorates of the Sultanate in Crown Plaza Hotel in Al-Qurum. The meeting discussed the changes in the curriculums and legal and professional matters along with administrative projects as well as the fiscal projects in the ministry.  
Oman Oil Company launched on the 5th of November, 2012 the Pioneers Support Program Centre for Outstanding and Talented students. The Centre program is structured in conjunction with The National Centre of Vocational Guidance under the name Takatuf. The Takatuf Scholars Program, a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of Oman Oil Company, has completed phase one of its inaugural year. The inauguration was held in Gabrin Hall in InterContinental Hotel and attended by responsible dignitaries from both sides and a number of students and parents.  
The General Directorate of Education in North Batinah yesterday celebrated the inauguration of the Initial Qualifying Competitions for schools sports under the auspices of the  Dr. Ali bin Abdullah Al- Kalbani member of the Council of State in the presence of a number of sheikhs and a number of governments officials .  
Yesterday morning, under the auspices of Ali bin Abdullah Al-Fazari, the administrative expert in the General Manager Office in Al-Buraimi, the Scouts Union in Al- Buraimi organized a  training camp for scouts and guides leaders. The camp will continue its training skills activities on camping grounds in Hafsa bint Seeren School for the entire week.     
Under the patronage of Mr. Nassir bin Ali bin Saleem Al-Khiary, The Directorate General of Education in the Interior Governorate, Human Resources Development Department held an honoring ceremony for the outstanding student in Classical Arabic language rhetoric arts at the Training Centre in Nizwa.   
A committee from the Educational Supervision Department from the Ministry of Education paid a visit to Majz Al-Kubra School in Sohar. The visiting program included a number of class activities classes included a visit to reading classes in level one and four. The team also looked at some programs being implemented such as My Mother is My Teacher and I Develop My Reading Skills and other professional programs at school.  
A workshop on building relationships and work teams launched in Falaj Daris Hotel in Nizwa yesterday .The program targeting experts and managers and deputy directors of departments and heads of departments in the Directory of Education in the Interior Governorate. Thirty trainees participated in the lectures delivered by Mr. Nasser bin Ibrahim Al Sayegh, a Certified Trainer and expert in human resource development. The Directorate General of Educational Programs represented by the Department of Special Education began yesterday morning the Implementation and Design Workshop programs for outstanding students at the Intellectual Education School in Al Khuwair. The workshop runs during the period of 3-6/11/2012.  
Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al-Shaibaniah the Minister of Education lead the Sultanate delegation to the second GCC Education Bureau Symposium held in Kingdom of Bahrain last week. The symposium reviewed action plans for the bureau programs from its previous meetings and the current one.  
The sultanate students took part in Middle East and North Africa Robots Competitions, held in Aspire Centre in Qatar and attracted more than 300 competitors. The Indian Schools in Oman came first in the standard levels for Secondary schools and Kaab bin Zaid school for Basic Education reaped the forth place for open contests and   Qubaa School came at 9th place.  
Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed, the Minister of Education received on Tuesday morning in her office, Dr. Joseph Balenkas the President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, who is currently visiting the Sultanate. The Hungarian Academy of Sciences, have hosted over the past years the honoring ceremony events for the winners of Sultan Qaboos for Environment Protection.  
  Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Saeed bin Humid Al Harthy, the General Directorate of Education in Northern Batinah celebrated the closing events of educated village program in (Al-Ghashbah Village) in Sohar.  
The Department of Human Resources Development in Al-Dhahirah Governorate held a work meeting to explain and discuss the mechanisms for the preparation of professional development plans for the current year 2012/2013.The meeting involved more than 30 personals from various department heads and seniors.
Under the patronage of undersecretary of Council of Ministers Shiek Al-Fadhel Bin Mohmed Al-Harthy; the Ministry of Education inaugurated the proceedings of the joint study conference with World Bank Experts on the efficiency of the education system in the Sultanate (Proceed to Achieve Quality), it was held at Majan Hall in Al-Bustan Palace Hotel.  
Dr. Nasser bin Abdullah bin Salem Al Abri, Director-General of Education in Southern Batinah Governorate met the school’s principals to discuss the results of academic achievement.
