Yesterday, a visiting group of 21 students from brotherly State of Kuwait arrived to the sultanate on Friday for five days visit. The visit is schedules within the bilateral cooperation between the Omani-Kuwaiti joint commissions of UNESCO programs registered schools in both countries.  The visit aims to mark the 60ist anniversary of UNESCO linked schools around the world and to exchange experiences .  

Under patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah Al-Khalili, Minister of Justice ; presented by Dr. Madiha bent Ahmed Al-Shibaniah, Minister of Education; will celebrate a delivery of His Majesty's Cup for 2013/2014 academic year for school cleanliness and hygiene competition. The celebration will be held at the Directorate of Education in Al-Buraimi Governorate on Saturday 9th of March 2013.

General Directorate of IT participates in the events of 5th session of the international educational symposium (GEF) and GESS in UAE. His Excellency Dr. Hamood bin Khalfan bin Mohammed Al-Harthy, Undersecretary for Education and curriculum; participated in the meetings of the 75th ordinary session for Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States. The meeting held last Wednesday in Dubai, UAE.  The conferees discussed a number of topics related to educational joint work for the Gulf States office's members.

Given the importance of awareness of renewable digital services provided by Oman Educational Portal; the Educational Portal is participating in Muscat International Exhibition the 18th for Book, patronage by His Excellency Darwish bin Ismail Al-Baloshi, Minister of Financial Affairs. The portal booth located in Al awtabi Hall until 8/3/2013. It's worth mentioning that, the General Directorate of IT represented by the Educational Portal has permanently showed continues presence in all public events  

The Main Committee for Follow-Up and Evaluation for Hygiene and Health in the School Environment Competition began its inspection visits. The visiting was headed by Jabir bin Moosa Al-Abri, advisor to the Ministry, for competition affair; and committee's members. The committee members visited two schools, accompanied by General Manager of Education in Northern Al-Batinah.  

Quality assurance office in The General Directorate for private schools in conjunction with performance development department in the General Directorate of Human Resource development , implemented a workshop entitled " strategic planning for school" from 26 to 27 Feb in Al Quram private school Hall.The Quality Assurance Office will continue the mission of spreading the Quality culture, for that, Mr. Fahed Al-Kalbani, international coach and quality specialist; will do a workshop at Northern Al-Batinah and Al-Buraimi governorates in 9-10 March entitled "Total Quality Keys".  

Her Excellency Dr. Madiha bent Ahmed Al-Shibaniah, the Minister of Education, has approved the results of the General Education Diploma Certificate for the first semester 2012/2013. The number of students who took the General Education Diploma examination was 417, 84, with a success rate of 80.4%.  The number of applicants for the General Education Diploma for the bilingual private schools was 504 with 90.3% success rate. Supporting and functioning of the quality management system's team held its 2nd meeting yesterday in the training center at the Directorate of Education in Al-Buraimi. The meeting was headed by Mosa bin Ali Al-Hinai, the General Manager of Education in Al-Buraimi Governorate and attended by the team members in the governorate .  

Hajer bani Amer School (Basic education) in Southern Al-Batinah celebrated the launching of pamphlet with the title "National Pulse for Your Safety on the Road". The celebratration comes within the events of Shell For Safety Award, sponsored by Colonel Mohsen bin Ahmed Al-Abri, the Police Commander in Southern Al-Batinah Governorate; the event was also attended by Dr. Nasser bin Abdullah Al-Abri, General Manager of Education in the Governorate; and other dignitaries.  

The local committee of shell for Road Safety completed its evaluation process of 2nd level projects at Directorate of Education in Al-Dakhlia Governorate. The local committee held the meetings under the chairmanship Nasser bin Ali Al-khayari, Head of Local committee and DG assistant of Education Affair in Al-Dakhlia; presented by local committee members, teachers and students for next level.   

Monday, The Ministry of Education applied the written exams for Cognitive Development Program on Monday 25/2/2013. The exam was for 7th Grade students in all Sultanates' Schools in Science, math, and geography concepts. Furthermore, the program included 3 tools: written exams, verbal contest, and student's projects. The other tools will be applied centrally at the end of March and the end of April and focusing mainly on applied level and high capabilities questions.  

The Committee of Research and Studies implemented a training program in the training center at the Directorate General of Education in Al-Buraimi Governorate. The program was about Educational Researches and Documentation methodologies. Dr. Ali bin Salem Al-Ghafri, Head of Research and Studies Committee; began the program with a paper entitled "Observance for Accuracy Scientific Method in Research".  

The Directorate General of Education in Al-Dakhlia Governorate represented by Continuing Education Section, marked the Day of Arab Literacy Day and seized the event to honor the volunteers in Literacy Program at educational training center in Nizwa. His Excellency Sheikh Talal bin Saif Al-Hosni, Wali of Buhla; patron of the event handed over the awards. The event was attended by Dr. Said bin Saif Al-Amri, General Manager of Education in Al-Dakhlia Governorate; and other dignitaries.
