HE Dr. Hamood bin Khalfan Al Harthy, MOE Undersecretary for Teaching and Curricula received in his office, yesterday, H.E Ibrahim Mohamed the ambassador of Niger. He also received H.E Julio Eduardo the ambassador of Peru. The two sides discussed issues of Common-interest in Education.    

 In the frame work of Ministry of Education endeavor to add variety to schools' subjects in Post Basic Education; and within its endeavor to spread foreign languages learning in order to increase the chances for students to territory studies in various fields and to enhance better jobs opportunities ; The ministry of education has  implemented the Dutch Language classes as an elective subject for 11th  and 12th  classes . The program started in five school of which 3 in Muscat and 2 in South Batinah.  

Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al- Ghazali, the president of Muscat Private Colleague presided over the inauguration ceremony of the little Entrepreneur exhibition organized at Arwa bent Abdmutlib Girls School in Buwsher. The event was attended by high profile employees in Muscat education department, school headmasters and vocational guidance specialists. of IT implemented a training program "Action Script 3 Apps" .the course was held at the main training centre of MOE in Al-Khuwair for two weeks (20/4 to 1/5). The course meant for training participants on building interactive contents .The course was conducted by an expert from the National Institute.  

Yesterday, More than 110 people from the Ministry of Education is projected to participate in the Second Symposium for Work Professional  Ethics and Performance Development implemented by Oman Establishment for Press, News, Publication and Advertising (OEPNPA) from 18-19 May 2013 .The symposium invited high profile speakers and experts in economic, planning and human resources management.   

The central committee for "Our Anthem is our life" competition concluded its evolutionary visit to Al-Buraimi schools. The committee attended at Hamasa School BE(1-4) proceedings and Al-Talaa' School BE (1-4) . Later, the committee attended the joint ceremony of the region's schools at the main schools theatre in Al-Burymi.  

In light of care and concern of the Ministry of Education of its employees' health condition; the Directorate General of Education in Al-Burymi in conjunction with The Health Services Directory in the governorate, implemented a free checkup for diabetes and blood pressure control. The 2nd Health Weak in the region aimed at promoting health awareness and to manifest ties between the community institutions.     

 The Central Committee for Hygiene and Cleanness Competition preceded its surveillance mission in Al-Dakhlia governorate. The committee visited a number of schools which has been nominated through arbitrary draw on daily basis. The schools underwent inspection was Aysh bint Mohmd Al-Abriah in Al-Hamraa and Nizwa basic education , Om Al-Khair School in Izki and finally Seejja Basic education school in Sumail.    

The Ministry of Education represented by Omar bin Al Khatab Institute for blinds held a convection ceremony for the second patch at MoE auditorium in Al-Wattaya ; the event patron Sheikh Saood bin Hamed Al-Humooda ,the general director of recruiting department in the Ministry of Civil Affairs. The event was attended by Kazia Al-Saqrya, the institute dean of students and a number of high profile employees and student parents.        

  The directorate General of Education in Al-Buraimi Governorate, represented by the Students Welfares Awareness Promotion Department took part in the activities of the 2nd Health Week being implemented by the Ministry of Health Directory in the governorate, health services department, on morning and evening sessions from 27th of April to 1st of May 2013. The banner of this year's health week is "Further Promoted Health Services and Awareness". Recently, Alfi school competition 2nd semester Football tournament 2013 concluded, the event was held under aegis of Sheikh Salem bin Hamood Al-Mamari, Wali of Mahadh  and attended by His Excellency Salem bin Ali Al-Kaabi, Vice president of Shura councils and Mahadh representative and Sheikh Salem bin Abdullah Al-Madhani, Deputy Wali of Mahadh in Niabah Al-Rawdah; and other dignitaries.    

The events of the 2nd Educational meeting for Private school Headmasters concluded Yesterday, the events organized by Quality Assurance Office in General Directorate for private school in the Ministry of Education, entitled" Future vision and  Administrative Premises". The events sponsored by Dr. Hamood bin Khalfan Al-Harthy, Advisor for Education and curriculum at the Ministry of Education; it held at MOE's auditorium in Alwatiah. The events continued for 3 days.    

His Excellency sheikh Mohamed ben Hamdan Al-Toobi, ministry advisor, on Monday the educational symposium on (Vacations: legislations, practices and its affect on Learning). The symposium is implemented by the Standing committee for forums and educational Forums in conjunction with the directorate general of education in Dhofar governorate. The symposium attracted more than 280 person from teachers, administration faculty from Dhofar and Al-Wosta.  

The Ministry of Education sent a group of schools laboratories technicians to the United states of America .The team arrived in USA in the third week of April to attend a series of workshops at the producing resources of laboratories gadgets and receive the best training available on operating and maintaining machines functions .The program aims to cultivate professional development of employees and review the latest development in science world including but not limited to acquiring analyzing competences, repairing gadgets skills, methods and techniques used for administering experiments and ...

The Education Portal of the Ministry of Education on the World Wide Web added a new award to its golden record of reaped awards. The Portal recently came second and got the Silver Medal at Oman web Awards 2013. The celebration was held at the Al Bustan Palace Hotel in Muscat.
