Yesterday, the Educated village Program in Muscat Governorate celebrated the shut downs program in Yetti coastal Village. The program was run by the continuous learning programs in Muscat and continued for three years .The celebration was presided over by His Excellency Khalfan Al-Naabi councilor of Ministry of Sports Affairs in Al-Bustan Palace Hotel.   

Under the patronage of the governor of Al-Buraymi Al Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Albu-Saeedi, and Colonel Sultan bin Mohamed Al-Madhani commander of Oman Coast Battalion, celebrated the graduation of academic year 2012/2013 patch of Military Service for School Boys of Post Basic Education in the Governorate.   The National Vocational Guidance Centre of Ministry of Education launched the summer program for 2012/2013 (Ghaitah) .The program in cooperation with Oman Oil Company and Al-Nama' Management Consultancy company. The program expanded this year to include the Interior and Northern Batinah Governorates. A committee from the Ministry of Education visited the Directorate General of Education in Al-Burymi governorate to attend the showcase events of the educational visit to Britain carried out last March. The two days event held at the main training centre was attended by the head of the centre, Mona Al-Ansari, and a number of teachers. The visiting teachers, Mr. Faisal Al-Fliti and Moza Al-Saeedia, presented reportage about their trip to Britain and their experience of its schools.    

The directorate general of Education organized an open day for Athletics and sports at the Nahda Sport Club in Al Buraymi. The events attracted the administration employees and teachers across the governorate. The competitions were between four teams which went through different kinds of sports and competitions (football, running, volleyball, robe bulling, jumping…etc.     

His Excellency Dr Humood bin Khalfan Al-Harthy, Undersecretary of Education and Curricula presided over the honoring ceremony of Narcotics combating groups in the community. The event was held at The Omani Woman Association in Al Qurm .The activities of the program "Me and Schools Drugs Free" lasted for one month in all surrounding schools.     

Her Excellency Dr. Madiha Al Shibaniah, Minister of Education received in her office yesterday Khalil Mahshi Director of the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP), UNESCO. The two sides reviewed the aspects of joint work and cooperation between the sides in addition to other aspects of common interest .The meeting was attended by Mohamed Salim Al-Yaqoubi, the secretary –General of Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science.

The event embodies the cooperation between the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Education.   

Dr Sana'a bent Sabeel Al-Balochia, the DG of the National Centre for Vocational Guidance and accompanying commission visited the Directorate General of Education in the interior governorate. The commission conferred with its counter parts in the region at Oman Chamber in Nizwa and attended by Dr Said Saif Al-Amri, the interior superintendent.    

The Road safety Commission in Al-Burymi, represented by its awareness sub- team implemented a forum which targets the school students. The event was held ministry of education theatre in Al-Burymi. It is to note, that the sub-commission is avid to disseminate road safety in the community and call attention to the safety precautions of road safety.      

His Excellency Saood bin Salim bin Ali, Undersecretary of MOE for Education Planning and Human Resources management, and the attached committee flew to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan yesterday on behalf of Her Excellency the Minister Dr. Madiha Al-Shibaniah to take part in the proceedings of Pan Arab Education summit starting on Monday and continues up to the 8th of the month.
